Once again, an event had to be canceled. Due to unforseen circumstances the event that was planed for today can not be held. We are unendingly sorry for the short notice but something we thought was going to happen fell through. However, we are going to wait a month for on next event instead of doing them every other weekend. For this next event we are going to mass advertise across all college campuses including Pitt, RMU, CMU, CCAC ect. This is a new year for Recoil Gaming and we are going to start doing this diffrently so that our gaming events will be the biggest and best in Pittsburgh! December 8th 2008

Recoil Gaming will be holding the next event on December the 19th through to the 20th. This event will be a consol LAN party, where by we expect people to bring TVs and consoles to play video games. We will then hook the consoles up to the network to play. Our 8 TV/8 Xbox 360 will be available for the LAN party and we expect people to be on them almost constantly. If you have not played a video game on HD TV you need to check this out.

Games expected to be played are Halo 3, Super Smashbrothers Brawl. Guitarhero, Rockband, DDR, and many others!!

 

Note, this is a very casual event, there is not a need to be highly skilled, just like to play video games. Get a case of Dew, bring some munchies, tell some friends and come and hang out!

 

Recoil has a snack bar, selling food, cans of soda, bottles of bawls and other small snacks and refreshments!

 

Date: December 19th to the 20th

 

Time: Doors open at 8pm and we have the place till 3pm the next day.

Due to popular demand Recoil has decided to reverse the tournament scheduale.

 

2 Vs. 2 Doubles will now be starting first, at 1PM, and also will be SLAYER ONLY.

4 Vs. 4 will now start AFTER the doubles tournament. 4 Vs. 4 Will remain SLAYER ONLY!

Midnight - We waited till the last moment we really could, and we here at Rec0il Gaming have decided we will not be holding our event this saturday. We are going to restructure the event and hold it in 2 weeks instead.

The new event will be at the same place, doors open at 11am on November 1st. The event will have a $5 cover charge for each person.

 

This event will be broken into two sections, team doubles and team slayer. both will be in MLG format.

 

The Team Slayer event will take place at 1pm and will cost $40 per team.

 

Team Doubles will follow the Team Slayer event as soon as it has ended with a cost of $25 per team for Team Doubles

Today is the last day for people to register for the 16 team MLG Halo 3 tournament, we have to make the call tonight at 8pm EST if we are going to hold the event this weekend or not. We need atleast 13 teams to commit to showing up.

If in the event we do not have enough teams we are going to push our first event back 3 weeks change the setup.

Ok people, i know your gamers, and i know you want to game, but we NEED people to register. So get motivated and REGISTER!!!!!

 

 I alone have had 20+ Calls about this event, and Sinnex also has had many, we need pleople to register.

 

This event was originally planned to be a "pre-register" only event, meaning, no "at the door" sign-ups. Due to people not preregistering we may decide to have a "at the door" event". But we still need reassureance that there will be ATLEAST 13 teams, Sinnex and i are very comfortable in believeing there will be 16 teams.

 

We are no longer having a manitory down payment to register, if your team is gonna come to the event and compete, fill out a form, ALL OF IT, here.

 

Please note though, a down-payment will guarentee your spot if we recieve more than 16 team registrations.

 

We can take down-payments and registration payments in almost anyf orm, minus buck skins and corn :-P.

Credit card, debit card, and paypal are preffered over the website though.

 

Sinnex and I are more than willing to meet almost anywhere, at your convience in order to get the down-payment

 

 

 

Equipment update!!!!!!!!

 

Recoil will have dedicated equipment for tournament rounds, one xbox and LCD per person.

 

We have::

 

8x Sceptre x24WG-1080p LCD's        

 

These monitors are FULL HD and have speakers. i tested one out the other day and they are BEAUTIFUL, no lag, tearing, ghosting or anything. Colors arent PERFECT but, i think we'd rather have performance here.

Announcement!
The next event has been planed, and will be a 16 team double-elimination Halo 3 MLG Team Slayer tournament.

Teams will be required to register prior to the event, buying their Team Ticket in advance. Priced at $100 ($25 per person)

 

The top 3 teams will recieve prizes

 

Each team will recieve its own area at the event to bring and practice on their own equipment. Equipment should not exceed two Xbox 360s and two TVs

 

For teams that do not have their own equipment, or do not wish to bring their own equipment, two public TVs and Xbox 360s will be provided for anyone to use. Keep in mind that these are sure to be in constant use, and any team that relies on the public equipment for practicing, can not expect to practice much.

 

For the tournament it self, 8 Xbox 360s, and 8 19 inch TVs, with wired controlers will be provided. Each player, on each team will have one Xbox 360, and one TV.

Team coachs will be permitted as well as one alternate. However they must be registered prior to the event day. No player may be on two teams, be it a player, alternate or team coach.

 

Please keep in mind, the teams that attend these events are expected to know how to, and be rather skilled at playing Halo 3.

 

We plan to hold these events on a monthly basis in the future, and we hope you and your team will join us.

 

Any spectators who wish to attend the event need only to show up.

 

The exact location and date has not been determined. However, the same day that it is, you will see a post here and in the forums stating all the information you may need.

 

We also have some other VERY exciting things happening here at Rec0il Gaming. Nothing we can report on just yet, but we will keep you updated.
